At times I make small scale pieces for their own sake, pinning down an idea in a more tangible form. However, most often they serve as proof-of-concept and a chance to work out technique for a large piece. I work in encaustic but will press any material into service in a pinch.
A selection of scale experiment work will be on view at Edie's in Seattle's Capitol Hill from June to August 2014.
